Hi I recently submitted my questionnaire for a puppy. Do you have any pupps left from the upcoming March litter? I'd sure love to buy one. Let me know soon :-)

Do you ever have any solid white puppies born? We are wanting for a pet not breeding purposes.

Hi Angela, cryptorchidism is a common problem in our breed. A majority of the cases are unilateral, but I have had one pup that was bi-lateral and the testes never descended. Often the unilateral ones will have both testes outside the abdomen, but one of them will remain in the groin area and not fully descend into the sack. In any of these instances, I will require the dog to be neutered to prevent perpetuating the problem in the breed.

Is it common for Alaskan Klee Kaie to have bi-lateral cryptorchidism (retained testicles)? Is that hereditary?

Hi Jacob, Sorry for delay in reply. The price would be the same for a breeding quality or pet quality pup in most instances. The breeding potential pups who are placed in breeding homes will have to be health tested at the new owners expense which can be costly before I will qualify it for breeding. Additionally, if I may need the lineage of that pup for my future breeding, I would possibly require the new owner to give me a puppy back from a future litter of that pup as part of the purchase contract. Or if a male pup, I will often retain stud rights to use that male when it matures if it passes breeding quality exams. So, the added cost for a breeding potential pup comes after it has been health tested and proven to be breeding quality.

I know it is mandatory for your dogs to be nurtured/spayed if there is no desire for breeding. Does this agreement effect the price at which the dogs are sold. I have no problem with the price range but this would only seem practical.

Amber, The price is high not only because they are a rare breed, but also because of the extensive health testing I do on my breeding potential dogs each year. My breeding dogs are CHIC certified which means they have passed OFA Cardiac, Patellar Luxation, Thyroid testing as well as CERF eye testing. I also do Complete blood screening to test for other things such as liver function. Additionally all of my dogs and puppies are tested for FVII deficiency.

Wow! I had no idea that they were that much money. I guess since they are so rare? Hopefully in 5-6 years I can afford to get one! Im sure going to try!!

Amber, that is just the deposit. The average price for an Alaskan Klee Kai is $1800-$2500.

Great! You stated that there is a $400 deposit, is that how much the Klee Kai is or is there an additional price?
