I have a 10 month old Sibe who is so small that people have actually asked us if she's a large AKK. We wanted an AKK before we got her, but she needed us, so I put that plan on hold. I am still interested in getting an AKK, but I am worried about my rambunctious husky accidentally injuring a young puppy. Is there any way to get an older AKK, maybe a retired show dog or a rescue?

My AKK all play with my Australian Shepherd. I have trained the Aussie from the start to play gentle with the babies. I do understand your concern, though. Eileen Gregory at Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelett sometimes has older dogs available. You might want to visit some of the breeder web sites listed on <a href="http://www.uakka.com " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.uakka.com </a>or <a href="http://www.akkaoa.org " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.akkaoa.org </a>to see if they have posted any available older dogs as well.

>hi juat checking our your web sight really cute they really do look like sibes, what is the colors they come in , do they come red like my sibe coloring had ..?? like the reds, <br>they are hiper but what sibe isn't unless it's like a red head woman,. lol but my silver and white one was very dossile , he let his dad do all the howeling for him, why work when some one can do all the work (speaking ) for you, codi should had been a pollitician.lol

Thanks Brian. Yes they do look a lot like tiny Sibes. They come in black & white, gray & white, red & white (but red & white is very rare right now), and solid white (solid colors cannot be registered because they do not meet the breed standard but are beautiful and make wonderful pets). They are very active, but do settle down. They can be very vocal as well and do talk like sibes at times.

Hi there i am getting a AKK puppy bitch on 27th jan 09. Me and my partner Lianne have fell completely in love with the breed and are looking at the possibility of breeding for two reasons and two reason only one being we want to have this breed in our lives at all times, the second reason being we want to do our part to help the breed gain acceptance into the Kennel Club (in england). I just wanted to get as much info you can offer and I was hoping maybe you could help us towards our goal.

You might want to visit http://uakka.com or http://www.akkaoa.org and look at their breeder listings. I think there may be one or two breeders in the UK. Also, there is a yahoo group in the UK for Klee Kai people that is called ukakk.

I will be taking some new pics this weekend. Keep an eye out for the photo album. :-) She is doing great. She has been having a blast at doggie day care at Family Pet Care. They have been spoiling her rotten and letting her romp and play while I am at work.

Hi Mercedes,
I will most likely be placing some retiring adults between now and the end of next year. Keep an eye on my Available Puppies / Dogs page. Additionally, you may try following the links at the bottom of that page to other breeders who may have older dogs currently available. Right now, I believe Eileen Gregory with Alaskan Klee Kai Kennelette and Barbara Williams with Heart of Texas may have older dogs available.

You may want to look at the breeders listing on www.uakka.com or www.akkaoa.org. I believe there may be a few breeders from the UK listed there.

hi, i am looking for an akk but i have only one breeder in tennessee and their dogs are just a bit out of my price range. i was wondering if anyone may know of a cheaper kennel or way i could find one of these little guys for less?

You may want to take a look at the breeder's sites that I have listed at the bottom of my Available page. They may have some older puppies or dogs that many be available for a lower price. You can also sometimes find retiring dogs that need a good forever home.

My son and husband have been wanting an Alaskan Klee kai for a year. However, my daughter just was diagnosed with severe allergies to pet dander. We currently have a ShihTzu and she doesn't feel any different around him, but suffers horribly around other breeds and has allergy attacks with shelties and jack russell terriers. She will be receiving shots for all of her allergies in the upcoming weeks; however it could take years for her to be completely immuned. Is the KLee Kai a good dog for allergy sufferers? I do not know anyone in New York state that owns one to have her play with. The shedding has nothing to do with the dander and being that a Klee Kai uses its saliva to clean itself may be a problem as she may not even pet or be near our dog we have had for 7 years!
